jane iredale how-to: Non-touring!

Introducing the latest beauty trend of 2016… Non-touring.

In 2015 Kimmy K showed us how to accentuate our features with contouring – the face sculpting phenomenon. Next we saw strobing, used to help radiate and enhance your facial features with highlighters and concealers.

Keeping your look radiant and fresh, non-touring is about makeup that looks like your real skin, not heavily sculptured with obvious frost, think fresh, natural and dewy, with just the right amount of highlight to subtly define your features. Similar to the no-makeup-makeup look, non-touring makes you feel and look like you are wearing nothing at all – perfect for day to night! This is wearable and undetectable so your skin looks great in person and will look just as good in selfies.

There are three effortless steps in achieving this daytime friendly look.

Step 1:

Begin by priming skin to create a smooth even base, your primer should suit your skin type, normal to dry skin types will love Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener as it restores moisture and radiance to skin. We recommend Smooth Affair Primer for Oily Skin for oilier skin types; this primer visibly reduces shine and the appearance of pores creating the ideal makeup canvas.

Step 2:

This look calls for lightweight coverage, so try our Dream Tint Tinted Moisturiser to even skin tone and give your complexion a dewy soft focus effect, as well SPF 15 protection. Our Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream will cover blemishes and deliver a velvety smooth finish to skin, so it’s a great option for those needing a little extra coverage.

Step 3:

The last step in creating this non-makeup look is to allow skin to capture the light. Apply a blend of the two palest shades from jane iredale’s Moonglow Quad Bronzer, using the White Fan Brush, and gently sweep onto the high planes of the face where the light naturally bounces off the skin – on the tops of the cheekbones and the brow bone, along the bridge of the nose and on the cupids bow (upper lip).

Non-touring is the makeup trend that’s here to stay! Tag us in your non-touring looks on Instagram @janeiredale_australia

Summer Skin Secrets – jane iredale’s top tips and tricks

Summer Skin Secrets - Blog Images

We know the Australian sun can be relentless and, as summer starts to creep up, we think it’s time to talk seriously about summer skin care. That means thinking more about SPF products, but it also means caring for your skin to ensure that it maintains a gorgeous glow, all year round.

The secret to a radiant, glowing complexion comes down to one essential thing: the way you care for your skin. So, we’re taking it back to basics and sharing our top tips and tricks so you can ensure that your skin is prepped and protected from the harsh UV rays this summer.

It’s all about preparation. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Never underestimate the power of exfoliation. Make best friends with your Magic Mitt to remove excess dead skin, which can build up when your skin dries out after being exposed to the sun and sea. Dead skin cells can cause congestion, so exfoliating is a simple way to ensure that your moisturiser works effectively, and it’s the first step to achieving a luminous glow all over.

Hydration is often taken for granted when it comes to your beauty regime. Moisturising and keeping skin hydrated, especially on your face, is the key to a clear complexion. Before applying makeup, start by prepping your skin with a spritz of one of our hydrating sprays. Carefully formulated to assist hydration of the deeper cells, a little hydration spray goes a long way and includes ingredients that will work to soothe and protect the skin, whilst plumping out any fine lines so your foundation glides on more smoothly. Faithfully reapplying the hydration spray will not only keep your skin conditioned and protected, but it will deliver a powerful source of antioxidants which help to combat the signs of ageing – which can make themselves known during and after sun exposure.

Wether you are poolside, or amongst the hustle and bustle of Bondi Beach, without a decent layer of SPF on your bod, you’re bound to start seeing the effects of mother nature’s rays. They say ‘slip, slop slap’, and we certainly agree! Sourcing a high SPF sunscreen will see you through the warmer weather with ease. Although, it’s not enough to just have one layer, you need to reapply, and reapply frequently. You really should be applying sun protection everyday, so, to make things simple, jane iredale has created a suite of multi-tasking products and foundations that protect with SPF as they do their primary job. Try our PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation, Dream Tint Tinted Moisturiser or Glow Time BB Cream.

Chapped lips are uncomfortable and painful and are often the result of the sun’s harsh effects. Don’t forget that whilst you may have lathered up in sunscreen, you may have missed your lips. Delivering ample hydration, jane iredale LipDrink Lip Balm takes immediate action, combatting both UVA and UVB rays, with its SPF 15 protection. The double beauty duty, available in three shades, also features essential oils and waxes, which deliver the ultimate protection as well as nourish the deep layers of the skin.

Don’t be scared to bronze up the unauthentic way (shhh!). Now considered one of the best beauty cheats, self-tanners are a great way to enhance your skin’s natural colour and shine, without inflicting harmful damage from sun exposure. Whilst providing some protection from the suns rays, self-tanner should always be used alongside sunscreen. Our go-to is the Tantasia Self Tanner – a moisturizing natural bronzer, and self tanner for the face and body. And…. The delicate citrus scent is uplifting and has none of the unpleasant after-smell often associated with self-tanners.

It’s so important to care for your skin, we can’t stress this enough. At the end of the day – your skin is yours, and yours forever. Reap the rewards and enjoy the confidence of radiant, glowing skin this summer by enlisting the top tips and tricks from jane iredale – you can’t go wrong!

Tint Today. Tan TomorrowTM

Tantasia reduced

As the saying goes, ‘if you can’t tone it, tan it,’ and at jane iredale we love the way we feel when we have bronzed skin; you look and feel healthier. Thanks to our incredible Tantasia Self Tanner and Bronzer, tanning is no longer exclusive to Summer. With the beauty industry becoming increasingly saturated with numerous fake tan products, Tantasia is a faux tan that is better than the rest. Tantasia features a buildable, moisturising formula that suits all skin types. Unlike other tan products, which take a ‘one colour suits all’ approach, Tantasia’s ingredients work with the skin’s own melanin to produce a tan suited specifically for you! Our unique formula has been sensitivity tested for face and body, and will leave skin silky, smooth and bronzed.

Now it’s time to get down to the business of bronzing. Here are our top tips to help you build a gradual, flawless, natural looking tan.

Application for body

  1. For a flawless tan, make sure that all hair removal is done at least 24 hours before applying Tantasia. Exfoliation should also be done before application. This will reduce your skin’s sensitivity, get rid of any excess dryness and allow your pores to tighten before your transformation into a bronzed goddess!
  2. Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise – the days leading up to your self-tanner application, nourish your skin with body oils and rich and creamy lotions. This will enhance your tanner and give you a beautifully smooth application.
  3. Shower and dry off. Next squeeze a small amount (about the size of a 10 cent coin) of Tantasia into the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together two or three times to distribute the bronzer across both palms.
  4. Smooth over the area you wish to tan, until product is absorbed using long, back and forth strokes. This product feels like a lotion and can look orangey-bronze at first, but as you work it into the skin, it leaves a beautiful soft tan finish.
  5. Repeat the steps above until the desired coverage has been reached. Remember that the Bronzer will provide an instant, healthy looking colour and that the tan itself will develop over the course of the day!
  6. Wash your hands with hand soap after application, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to wash off your hands – your secret is safe, you won’t be left with a trace of self tanner on your palms. Remember this product has a bronzer, so the transfer that you may see on your clothes won’t stain, it washes away, but be cautious of wearing white straight after your application.

What we love most about Tantasia is that it’s a gradual tan, so you can use it frequently to maintain your colour! We recommend apply it all over: legs, arms, chest, tummy and back or just legs for three consecutive nights or mornings in a row – Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday for a beautifully tanned skin that you’ll be confident to flaunt all weekend.

Application for face

  1. Squeeze a small amount of Tantasia onto your finger and touch the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin to distribute the product.
  2. Using sweeping moitions, start at the center of the face and blend outwards until you’re pleased with the coverage.
  3. Voila! You’re golden and gorgeous. Apply daily until your perfect shade has been achieved!

Winter is Coming… Winter skin care tips from jane iredale

At jane iredale we understand that winter is the season that keeps us in our cosy beds each morning, under layers of warm clothes each day, and of course, glued to the heater at all times!

Winter Skin Model

We know that as the cooler weather creeps in and we rug up, leaving less of our skin exposed, it’s easy to forget our usual skin care regime. However, with our skin enduring the extremities of cold temperatures, high winds, and the contrasting dry air from heaters, it’s so important that we master our winter skin care early and get into a moisture-balancing routine before the worst is upon us!

During winter, our skin can become dull and dry, so to help keep you on the path of well-hydrated skin, we’re sharing some of our favourite winter skin care tips and listing the jane iredale products to help you perfect them.

Winter makeup tips - header

Our first tip: Just because it’s cold doesn’t mean that you don’t need to stay hydrated.

We’re all pretty good when it comes to moisturising during summer (we usually have a glowing tan as an incentive), and staying hydrated is easy as the warm weather makes us thirsty, but what about hydration in winter? With less skin on show, many of us tend to forget about nourishing our skin in winter and our water consumption can also start to diminish. It’s so important to nourish your skin from the inside and out, and keeping up our water intake is an essential step in achieving a glowing, hydrated complexion. For an easy boost of moisture throughout the day, make sure you keep one of our hydration sprays handy. Our D2O HYDRATION SPRAY is the perfect multi-purpose spray, which can be used on its own throughout the day or before makeup to deliver immediate moisture. It can also be used after applying makeup to set minerals for a long-lasting, flawless finish.

Beat the uneven skin tone that comes with colder weather…

The cold weather and winds in the cooler months can actually result in blotchy skin, which is usually a result of dryness or irritation. To help treat the problem and even out your skin tone at the same time, try using one of our foundations, GLOW TIME® FULL COVERAGE MINERAL BB CREAM or our DREAM TINT® TINTED MOISTURISER both work to help calm and soothe irritated skin and provide coverage to help camouflage any imperfections. For an extra boost, apply Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener, a skin-quenching primer that helps to prevent moisture loss and promotes luminosity and skin radiance.

Protect your skin against UV rays… Yes, even in Winter!

It’s easy to forget about them, but they’re always there! We’re talking about harmful UV rays, and it’s important that you protect your skin against them – even in Winter! Start your beauty regime with our GLOW TIME® FULL COVERAGE MINERAL BB CREAM. This beauty balm will not only protect your skin with its SPF properties, it’s also water resistant for up to 40 minutes, making it particularly handy when the rain pours down!

Healthy-looking hands…

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of luxurious moisturiser hitting dry hands. Trapped under gloves, or hard at work, our hands are often the part of our bodies we forget to care for, but with HANDDRINK™ our stunning hand cream you can certainly change that. The non-greasy formula has active ingredients and organic rose essential oils to instantly revive and pamper your hands, providing a much-needed boost of moisture throughout winter and beyond!

Protect your pout…

Dry hands can feel like brittle paper, but there is one thing worse… chapped lips! Windy, winter days can leave lips feeling dry and sore, and our tendency to drink less water is also a contributing factor when it comes to dry lips. To keep your lips feeling soft and supple this winter try a nourishing lip balm like jane iredale’s LIPDRINK® SPF 15 LIP BALM. This luscious, petroleum-free lip balm is an all-in-one moisturiser that works to protect, soften and soothe chapped lips.
Winter skin products

So just remember, staying hydrated is a key component of achieving glowing, gorgeous skin. It’s so important to remember this at all times, regardless of the season! You can beat the winter blues by following these simple tips and filling your makeup bag with nourishing jane iredale products that will keep your skin looking and feeling healthy.

jane iredale presents top skin care tips for summer

With hot summer days and nights right around the corner we caught up with jane iredale expert Martina Williams to discuss some of the main things to consider when enjoying the summer sun.

There is no question that summer ignites feelings of excitement with beachside holidays, lavish vacations and a golden glow we have been longing for all winter. We just need to remember that whilst it’s great to enjoy the glorious sunshine it’s also important to factor in the vulnerability of our skin.

jessica hart - banner

Increased sun exposure can cause fair-skinned faces to freckle and leave darker complexions open to permanent skin cell damage. Here we share Martina’s top tips to help protect your natural glowing skin this summer.

During summer our bodies lose more moisture than usual through increased heat, causing dry and dehydrated skin. To help replenish your skin to its optimal soft and hydrated state you must increase the amount of water you drink. Water is a direct source of hydration and be sure to pay special attention to the products you choose to use.

Invest in a good moisturiser, your skin will love you for it. The key is to look for a mosituriser with active ingredients and vitamins that will improve your skin’s moisture, appearance and health. For your face, try one of jane iredale’s three hydration sprays, each is rich in antioxidants to help protect skin from the environment’s harsh elements, as well as hydrating and plumping skin cells. The POMMISST Hydration Spray with the added benefit of pomegranate extract is a powerful antioxidant and UV protector, which helps to condition, hydrate and protect the skin. D2O Hydration Spray based on ylang ylang; helps to calm and protect while boosting the skins hydration. Balance Hydration Spray has been formulated to help balance the pH of oily skin with the added benefit of algae extract; orange essential oil and grapefruit peel extract. The added bonus is green tea extract, which is highly recommended for acne-prone skin types.  All of the jane iredale Hydration sprays are certified by Ecocert Greenlife, because we are committed to making products that are clean, natural and environmentally friendly.

One other jane iredale hero product that needs to be mentioned is Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener, a skin quenching primer that prepares the skin so makeup goes on effortlessly and lasts longer. This product helps to prevent moisture loss while it nourishes the surface of the skin. If dry, dehydrated skin is your concern, Smooth Affair can make such a huge difference to the final look of your foundation. If you haven’t tried it, treat yourself. Oh and did we mention, Jane often uses it as her moisturiser, it’s that delicious. It’s also won the Allure (USA) Magazine ‘Best Natural Wonder’ Award for 2014, the Academy Awards of the makeup world. We don’t think you’ll use another primer after you use this product. It’s that good!

Top Skin Care Tips for Summer -Blog Image2

Supple, smooth and radiant skin starts with thorough cleansing and exfoliation. The exfoliation process refines the skin surface by removing dead skin cells, resulting in a smooth more polished looking skin. Exfoliating will improve hydration levels by allowing your moisturisers to penetrate the skin more effectively; makeup will glide on easily, look even and last longer. Try jane iredale’s Magic Mitt, a knitted micro-fiber cleansing cloth that gently exfoliates the surface of the skin, buffing away any dry, flaky skin cells while quickly and completely removing makeup using only water. Pack a mitt when you travel to save space and cleansing time.

We’ve all heard it a million times, but never the less, it needs to be said, avoid sun exposure between the hours of 11am to 3pm when the sun’s UV rays are at their strongest and most damaging. Applying sunscreen before exposing your face and body to the sun is a crucial step in preventative skin care. It is important to note that most chemical sunscreens take around 30 minutes to activate, however it only takes a few minutes for your skin to burn. Gardening, swimming and outdoor activities should be avoided during these hours or at the very least, stay in the shade as much as possible, wear a hat, re-apply your sunscreen and wear light-weight cotton clothing to keep cool while protecting your skin. Too much sun exposure puts you at risk of premature aging, sun-spots, dry skin and nasty skin cancers.

To ensure you are leaving the house protected and for automatic sun protection we recommend the jane iredale Purepressed Base Mineral Foundation which gives instant chemical free broad spectrum sun protection and has a high water resistant rating. Because the powders are the top layer, their protection can be reapplied at the flick of a brush. If you prefer a liquid base, try Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream a creamy formula that helps to nourish and protect your skin from UV and free radical damage with a broad spectrum sunscreen – SPF 25. If you are after a sheer coverage mineral foundation, Dream Tint Tinted Moisturiser is the perfect option with a broad spectrum SFP 15.

Top Skin Care Tips for Summer -Blog Image

Always been a sun worshipper? Think again! There is nothing healthy about a real suntan. Enjoy being a glowing goddess safely with Tantasia Self Tanner and Bronzer; a light, streak-free formula that works instantly as a bronzer and develops as a gradual tan. Get a natural looking tanned complexion without the harsh UV and burnt damaged skin. No nasty chemicals or after smell. Use it on the face or body, suitable for even the most sensitive of skins.

If you are going to bronze up your body, whether it’s a spray tan, suntan or fake tan, remember to add some extra warmth to your face. Try jane iredale So-Bronzer’s in 3 beautiful shades – So-Bronze 1 suits light to medium complexions; So-Bronze 2 is slightly darker with the addition of a quarter moon of pressed gold powder (use it as an eye shadow – divine!) and So-Bronze 3 for the sun goddesses out there, think olive/dark tanned skin tones. Best of all, these bronzers can be used all year round, in summer to add a natural sun-kissed glow over your foundation and during the cooler months, to add definition to the face – AKA Contouring. We all need an oh-so gorgeous bronzer in our makeup kit.

Why you need to become a sunscreen fanatic… this information usually surprises people. SPF ratings are complicated to understand but here is a quick insight into better understanding what factor is a better choice. There isn’t a great deal of extra protection between an SFP 15 and an SPF 50. For example, SPF 20 only gives 2.5% more protection than an SFP 15. SPF 30 only gives 1.5% more than an SPF 20.  There’s an extra 7% protection from a SPF 15 to an SPF 50.  Now it’s your choice whether you want those high SPFs with the increase in active chemicals or whether you’ll settle for a lower dose with fewer chemicals. We include titanium dioxide and zinc oxide as our active ingredients. They are classified as ‘physical’ actives and rest on top of the skin (We don’t use nano which can penetrate).  ‘Chemical’ actives are absorbed into the skin before they become an effective sunscreen, but once they have absorbed their dose of UV radiation, these formulas turn into free radicals and become ineffective, hence why you need to reapply ‘chemical’ sunscreen every two hours.

We don’t want to spoil your summer fun, but now you know that there’s no reason why you can’t enjoy the sunshine safely. Don’t be tempted to lie in the sun! Keep yourself protected from harmful UV-rays, stay hydrated and invest in good quality, healthy skin care and makeup that nurtures your skin! There’s no excuse this year for keeping the sun off your skin. Use protection, everyday, without fail, jane iredale beauties and have a happy summer!

jane iredale presents: Where there’s Smoke Part 1…

Executing the perfect smoky eye is a skill that requires some insider knowledge. jane iredale has asked makeup artists the world over for their secrets on creating a seriously smoldering smoky eye.

From Mexico to Japan and everywhere in-between, we’ve searched the globe for the hottest smoky eye tips and trends…. And there’s so much to cover we’ll bring it to you across two posts.

Nude Smoke 2

While each country’s signature smoky eye has its own unique flare, we’ve found some recurring tips our makeup artists from across the globe swear by.

To create a smooth and even base and colour use Active Light Under-eye Concealer. Its unique ingredients create a soft-focus effect that conceals and brightens.

Next, prime for staying power. Use jane iredale’s Lid Primer or Eye Gloss as a base before adding shadow. This will stop your eye shadows from creasing and prevent colour change.

The key to show-stopping smoky eye is all in the blending. You can achieve a seamless finish by using the Crease Brush to blend colour effortlessly through the eye crease.

Grey Smoke 2

Add intensity and create a fuller darker lash bed by applying black Eye Pencil into the roots of the top and bottom lashes, then blend using the Mini Dome Brush, perfect for those hard to reach areas.

Line the top and bottom inner rim/water line with black Eye Pencil for that intense, sexy look. Use the Chisel Shader Brush to apply dark intense colour to the eyelid without any fall out.

The most universally flattering makeup shade is black, add MYSTIKOL® Powdered Eyeliner/Highlighter in Onyx or Basic Black Eye Pencil to your existing day makeup, to dress your eyes up for a night out on the town. Every girl needs a little black dress and MYSTIKOL® Eyeliner in Onyx for your eyes is just that! Designed to create a smoky eye in seconds without any mess.

MYSTIKOL® Powdered Eyeliner/Highlighter provides a rich saturated colour. Use to line the eyes, or apply as an eye shadow that won’t fade, crease or smear.

Using the eyeliner, cover lid with the colour end and gently blend at the crease of the eye. Turn the MYSTIKOL®  pencil around to highlight the inner corners of the eye or brow bone for a soft, shimmery, highlighted look.

Layered Smoke 2

Smoky isn’t a colour, it’s a technique! Experiment with different tones. Apply Double Espresso PurePressed® Eye Shadow over eyelid and blend up towards the crease. Using the Crease Brush, sweep Red Carpet PurePressed®Eye Shadow through crease and merge the shades together. The result equates to nothing short of sexy. To add some dazzle to your smoky eye, press some 24-Karat Gold Dust Shimmer Powder onto the eyelid, concentrating on the inner corner to make the eye pop.

Enhance the eyes by using Jelly Jar™ Gel Eyeliner; it creates a smooth precise liquid liner effect, without the effort. Use it beneath your eye shadow for added drama and depth of colour. Swap your standard inky eye shadow colours for golds, copper and bronze tones! Try our new jane iredale PurePressed® Eye Shadow Triple in Golden Girl, a sure smoky combo set to make blue eyes stand out! Dress your lashes with two coats of jane iredale Longest Lash Mascara in Black Ice for full thick lashes. Concentrate on the roots of your lashes, that’s where the majority of the product should be placed.

We’ll be back with more ways to perfect the smoky eye in our second ‘Where There’s Smoke’ installment soon!

For a photo-finish face the normal rules apply, first comes a beautiful base…

Start by applying an even layer of Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener to enhance the performance of your makeup – ideal to keep your makeup looking fresh, prevent your skin from turning shiny and keeping your foundation in place.

To complete your base, apply PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation directly on top of the primer, giving your face a semi-matte finish.

A golden glow is an absolute must for spring racing, which also marks the start of the warmer weather. Achieve this by applying PurePressed Blush in Copper Wind along the cheekbone with a wide fan brush. To add some subtle sparkle to your look, lightly dust the illuminating 24-Karat Gold Dust in Bronze over your cheeks.

A look transcending seasons is the sublte smokey eye. To achieve this look, highlight the brow bone, using the highlighter end of a Mystikol eyeliner or the dual Highlighter Pencil in pink/white. Line the upper lash line with an eye pencil or Mystikol. Blend this in well with a Smudge Brush.

For the lids and lower lash line we recommend using the Daytime Eye Shadow Kit. First, using the lightest shade, Oyster, apply to the entire eye lid using the Deluxe Shader Brush. Use the slightly darker neutral shade, Almond and blend into the lid and crease line using the Crease Brush. This brush is the go-to tool for blending, amazing! Gradually getting darker, use Dark Suede eye shadow on the outer half of the lid using a clean brush. Then blend well using the Crease brush.

Next, use one of the Jelly Jar Gel Liners to create a defined cat liner across the upper lashes and lightly drag along the lower lashes using the Angle Liner/Brow Brush. If you are wearing olive or purple, try our new shade Jelly Jar Gel Eyeliners to bring out the colours in your dress/millinery.

Complete your beautiful smokey eye with a coat of Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara in Black Ice.

For longlasting, lucky lips use a moisturising balm to provide longevity and consistency of your lip colour. Our LipDrink SPF 15 Lip Balm offers the perfect level of moisture and sun protection.

Blog - Spring RacingFor a full and rich lip colour use one of our PureMoist Lipsticks in a shade that suits your outfit. For a coral shade, try Liz; if you are after a beautiful bright pink, try Renee. If red is your pick, try Margi and if you are after a nude looking lip finish, we recommend Sharon. To maintain both depth and dimension with your lip colour, don’t be afraid to layer.

Apply a light coat of PureGloss Lip Gloss in your favourite shade for a soothing, hydrating and nourishing all day shine that will only compliment your lipstick shade and make your lips look oh so kissable!

We caught up with a very experienced bridal makeup artist, the lovely Liv Lundelius to ask her what her top five makeup tips are for brides:

1. Every bride wants their skin to look the very best. To achieve this it all starts with the right skincare and staying hydrated in the lead up to your wedding day. This is closely followed by choosing the right primer and foundation for your skin type and tone. Take time to find the right products and be sure to use a primer on your wedding day.

2. The face needs to match the neck and décolletage and you should always choose makeup that has no reflective properties for the sake of taking your wedding photos. Match your natural skin on the day of your wedding. To achieve a sun kissed look, use a matte bronzer on the high points of your face. If you prefer a brighter and lighter look use a slightly lighter, light reflecting but sheer concealer or foundation only through the center of your face.

3. It’s important to find a look that matches your style and personality, you still want to look like you and feel comfortable. Take the time to find the right look and book in a trial with your makeup artist a couple of weeks prior to your wedding day. If you are in doubt, less is usually more. Remember, a natural polished look will never go out of style.

4. For touch ups on the day, I recommend keeping your lipstick and a pressed translucent powder with you. Only powder down the t-zone to avoid unflattering shine on the forehead and nose, while also avoiding your cheeks. Keep them naturally glowing, if you like that dewy look. Check your lipstick after the ceremony (kiss!) and before the photos and then again after eating at the reception.

5. Get the glow: Highlighting is important and will help you get that youthful fresh glow on your wedding day. Subtly highlight cheekbones, the bridge of the nose and along your  cupid’s bow, as well as the inner corners of your eye. Highlighting adds dimension to the face and radiance to the skin.

We couldn’t agree more with her bridal tips, finding the right makeup is SO important. And that’s where we come in; jane iredale is designed to make your skin look fabulous on your big day. It blends beautifully, has a soft-focus effect and does not flash back in photography. There’s also the added benefit of minimal touch-ups and healthy ingredients that won’t cause breakouts. A makeup range that delivers results.

We have a few more tips to share with every bride-to-be before she walks down the aisle.

Don’t go overboard with the fake tan. There’s nothing worse than an orange bride. Develop a subtle and even golden tan with jane iredale’s Tantasia Self Tanner. Tantasia can be used on the face and body. For best results, start using it consecutively for a few days before the big event. Remember to pack it in your luggage for that extra glow on your honeymoon.

When it comes to the makeup, there’s one golden rule: if your dress is white, opt for pink-based colours. If you’ve chosen an off-white shade, reach for peachy tones.

Cover up under eye circles or blemishes with concealer after you have applied foundation. Use jane iredale’s range of different concealers to correct problem areas. The Enlighten Concealer eliminates any blue, or ashy tones around the eye area, while Active Light Under Eye Concealer helps to reduce puffiness and deflects light to create a soft focus effect. The Disappear Concealer with Green Tea ensures any blemish or redness goes unnoticed.

Focus on accentuating your best feature. If you have amazing eyes, play them up and keep lips light and soft… Or if you have a pretty pout, go for a bold lip colour and keep your eye makeup soft and subtle with a clean eyeliner and neutral toned eye shadows.

Prep your eyelids with jane iredale’s Eye Gloss for crease-free eyeshadow that doesn’t disappear. This quick drying, smooth formula can be used alone or underneath eye shadow. It’s also smudge and water resistant, to help keep any wedding tears of joy from ruining your look.

For perfectly coloured lips, jane iredale’s Lip Fixation is the answer! The dual-ended lip stain and gloss provides long lasting rich colour that resists feathering and fading. The gloss accentuates the stain of colour and provides a high shine glass-like finish.

And last but not least, don’t forget to enjoy every moment of one of the greatest days of your life!
